Civil law is the law which deals with rights and duties of the individuals. For the violation of such rights and duties, remedies are sought before Civil Courts of competent jurisdiction. Such remedies include specific performance, declaration of title, recovery of possession, injunction, compensation or damages etc. The procedure to regulate the proceedings in such disputes is laid down by the Code of Civil Procedure,1908. These notes are intended to help law students prepare for their LLB and Judicial service exams.
